However, as I'm probably only paying a tenner or so for a return flight, I don't really begrudge paying Ryanair's prices for food and drink, so I am prepared to pay for it if I feel hungry or thirsty.
We generally fly short-haul (France or Europe), so it's never that long until the next meal. However, we're happy to take early morning flights, and always take our picnit brekkie, some nice sandwiches and a bit of fruit. We do always get a coffee or hot chocolate at the airport whilst waiting for the flight, and get a juice or mineral water on the other side of the security check bit. Had far too many bottles of min water taken off us in the past .... The food on no-frills airlines is just awful and such a rip-off. Ou home-made sarnies are much much nicer, really worth the effort.
