Living on my own farm
We have recently applied for permision to live on our farm in a mobile home. We have submitted plans but after a visit frm the planning officer this we we are confused!!! He told us we could withdraw the planning application for residential dwelling but ask for the right to live there as we are running a viable bussiness.

If you wish to live in a mobile home, it is the principle of residing there that needs the application.
An application to build a dwelling to live in is an entirely different matter and will take in things such as the design of your dwelling, the materials used, etc.
I think he is telling you that you have made the incorrect sort of application.

I am assuming you have made an application for a dwelling and the planning officer is advising that this is likely to be refused. In this case it sounds like he is advising you withdraw the application and make a new one for an agricultural tied dwelling instead - in which case you need to demonstrate a business need for someone to reside at the site.
