Daft family traditions

we live about 20mins by car from the Tower of London and everytime we go past the Tower we all shout out "morning/aft/evening Henry to Henry the eigth, we never miss. I think it started with my dad who wanted us kids to recognise London landmarks, my kids did the same and now my grandkids and one great grandson also greet him every time we go past.If we have non family in the car they probably think we are all mad bit its become a family tradition.
Have other people got any ?

I have. I never leave my purse completely empty even if there is only a penny in there and I have a habit of saying "Must leave something in there to keep the devil out" meaning poverty I suppose. The young kids have heard me say this so often that they have adopted the saying.

If I ever go to the coast and go fishing for shell fish I always throw a silver coin into the sea . so that I have paid the sea for the bounty that you have taken.

you know the sayings like; 'red sky at night' etc?
Well when we were little, my dad used to say 'ooh look. cow's lying down- egg and bacon for tea!'
I only found out he'd made this up when I was older. It makes no sense whatsoever, but I can't pass a field of cows laying down, without saying it.

oh yeah, and at the break of a programme, and end of part one comes up, my dad always said 'that's the end of one part'
Every time i see that i say it in my head.
It's a bit annoying really!

Every family must give a prize to the first one to spot the tower

PMSL ric.ror - i live 5 miles away from blackpool and go there at least twice a week.
and whenever i do, my kids try and be the first one to spot it!
You'd think they'd be fed up of it by now!

We used to do that with the spire of Salisbury cathedral.
When out in the New Forest everytime we see a signpost for Sway, we do.
