Roast Duck - Help Needed Please

I rashly bought a whole duck - well it seemed like a good idea at the time - and have now realised that I don't know which vegetables would go well with it (roasted) and also how to make a gravy/sauce to accompany it (can't be a fruity sauce as these would not go down well with hubby). Would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanx in advance.
