Would they be paying anyone who they know would be committing benefit fraud or tax evasion?
What about any awards which thay have, such as Investors in People, or ISO 9002? If they are not keeping up their quality or training obligations, then they could loose their awards at the next inspection.
Is your former boss a big drinker? Report her to the police if you suspect they are drink driving, particularly to work the next morning.
My former employers copied, purchased, uses and smuggles into the U.S. illegal software. After I left I reported them to Microsoft. I'm considering reporting them to other companies. You might consider that, most companies do that and aren't entirely aware of what they're doing isn't legal. You can report them without giving your name and if you do they won't disclose it. Also if they don't have a safe environment you could report them to OSHA.
The EEOC is a good government agency to report them if they violated anyone due to race, sex or age.
What helped me too is I created a Blog page and I made a diary of that company's practices. It's good therapy because it gets plenty off your chest. Strangely Google lists those blog sites at the top of the search pages. I used Blogeasy.com and it's pretty easy to use. I'm assuming legal because it's freedom of speech.
