need to change car need a good economical deisel car
16 Answers
we currently have a 2 ltre hdi deisel citroen picasso xzara, its ok and a decent sized car , though price of fuel and insurance is key, what is a nice smaller car to run, we want a deisel which will be easy on insurance and not expensive for parts etc, was thinking of a vw golf sdi ? we had a 1900cc sdi before the picasso but picasso seems to be heavier on fuel plus its more expensive to insure. i once had a citroen saxo deisel, nice little car , nice looking but interior wasnt good and we have 2.1/2 year old baby now and we need more room than a 2 door citroen saxo.
what do you think ? thanks

My 2.0TDi estate goes like the wind but delivers 60mpg on a run and never less than 45 around town.
I think you will find the comfort, fittings and build quality a big step up from what you are used to also!

EvianBaby: I was thinking of getting a Golf diesel - not a new one, maybe four or five years old - and wonder if you could give me an idea of why you consider them not cheap to run. Is it servicing costs or are spares expensive? The spares for my current Ford are no longer cheap like they once were.
