If Britain is to interfere with other countries laws by cutting aid because of their treatment to homosexuals, should they not also cut aid to all those other nations that are renown for other human rights abuses, not just focus on homosexual abuses?
Incidentally judging by that photo of President Bingu wa Mutharika, he looks like 'the biggest gay in Malawi'.

/// This is tacky, sensationalist journalism deliberately designed to mislead. ///
How can this possibly be so, when these are the facts?
***International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell has already cut aid to Malawi by £19 million after two gay men were sentenced to 14 years hard labour.***
***Mr Mitchell, one of Mr Cameron's closest allies, is also threatening to impose further aid 'fines' against Uganda and Ghana for hardline anti-gay and lesbian measures***.
Since the International Development Secretary has been named, don't you think that the he and the Government would soon deny this story if it wasn't true?
Just by providing an out of date link (14 July 2011) by the BBC, which gave other reasons for the cuts in aid, doesn't prove a thing.

AOG, //Just by providing an out of date link (14 July 2011) by the BBC, which gave other reasons for the cuts in aid, doesn't prove a thing.//
You've contradicted yourself. You've conceded that my 'out of date link' gives other reasons for cuts in aid. Therefore, contrary to the mis-information promoted by both you and the Daily Mail, and eagerly pounced upon by the politically motivated to have a snide swipe at Mr Cameron, aid is not being cut solely due to the gay rights issue.

Foreign aid should be cut regardless of the reason. Until 1967, homosexuality was illegal in this country (something many seem to have forgotten). I still think the 'act' should be illegal despite having several close gay male friends over the years. In many countries it remains illegal with no sign of that changing. Other countries have banned alcohol, something which we cannot compute.
If shoplifting were made legal, you can bet that our future generations would be aghast that other countries arrested them/put them into prison.
People become pandered to and groomed into accpeting something in law. For me it is about morals. Something that is stronger than a piece of legislation and the right of the pc brigade.
