Why I Sometimes Like Bing Over Google

Morning everyone,

Pop over to http://www.bing.com/ to see their "video homepage"

It's a pretty nice frog, going for a walk.

Bing is sometimes excellent.

I stay clear of it - it is the "power" of Microsoft that puts me off using it

I normally use IE9 but have been using chrome for a few days and I have to say, I am enjoying myself

I'd be more concerned about the "power" of Google DTC.

Bing give good results actually, and it's less crowded with adverts.

Their image search is also better than Google's in my opinion (and I've had less trouble with malware trying to sneak in while viewing an image - this happens with regularity on Google images for some reason.)

Google isn't crowded with ads... you just need to use an ad blocker as I do with...

So when you search for "car insurance" jno you don't get the top few results with a pinky-orangey background? And a few ads down the side too?

I'll give Bing a go, but I have misgivings after going on Google plus at your suggestion.

As I've said before, I had to give 2 names, so went for caccatore as a second, and now it appears on Gmail. Do you know how I can get rid of it, please?

Ed you do realise the reason you have less ads on Bing is because it isn't popular, if it ever gets as popular you won't be able to tell the difference

As for malware I suggest you review your security I have never picked up malware from google images.

Hi, I'm with NOX - How do you stop Bing popping up when you put an incorrect address in google!! It drives me mad!!

I've never had malware problems with Google images either, but I'll try a Bing image search some time.
