This practice of haggling, has been widely publicised recently, will this encourage the retailers to increase their prices, so that when the hagglers have managed to get a price reduction they will think they have a bargain?

Hard luck for those too shy to haggle though.

You are in a better position though to get a good deal at Comet than when you are on a market in Marrakesh, since you can go armed with information on competitors' prices via teh internet or an iphone app

you can always try saying "It's cheaper on the internet" (which is almost invariably true).

I dread to think what my reaction will be of someone tries to haggle at Co op with me, i'd go postal.
