self leveling latex? cracking
2 Answers
Is it normal for self leveling latex to crack in an area on the floor? It did have workmen on and so may have had a knock or two. The intention is to tile over so in real terms it will be covered but as the latex will act as my moisture barrier I could do without it cracking under the tiles. Also a gym has this latex and will just have lino on so will this all crack under the lino? Is it normal to crack ? Is it just a sign of weakness, was it applied wrong?
Thanks in advance

I can only think it was applied too thick. It'll depend on which one they used, but it's usually up to 3mm or so. Otherwise, it should be put on in layers. Perhaps they found low spots, which should have been filled with something like a sand/cement/PVA mix first.
