This might make you feel better bedknobs, I do hope so. I have a little mongrel bitch now aged 17 who I found a lump on 4 years ago. They operated on her despite her being a bit long in the tooth then and she's still here today. She has got now some further lumps and they advised against operating because of her age but she's still perky and happy and she's had 4 nearly 5 years since I found the first one, so keep your chin up, it might not be as bad as you think.
bednobs - fingers crossed for him. I agree with nox's posting - just wait and see. It will be a long weekend no doubt for you, but never give up hope.
Fingers crossed, bednobs - you've done the right thing, getting it treated. Best wishes to you all x
I agree with NOX bednobs. Have been reading about these tumours and it seems that if t hey are caught early the prognosis is good.

However, I can empathise with how you feel.

A friend of mine with a lab has just had exactly the same news and he is having it removed tomorrow. The prognosis is very good apparently. There are a few dogs who have had MCT's removed on a forum I go on and they are all doing really well. I just wanted to try to give you some good news really but know that you will worry,as I do, about everything. Will be thinking of you on Monday. Fingers and paws crossed for you xxx
