Leaving pets at the vets

Took Tigger to the vets this morning and she will be there till 2pm tomorrow. Feels weird her not being here and she must feel very lonely and abandoned. I left her at the vets overnight a couple of years ago when she had a grass seed stuck in her throat and I really missed her. I'm missing her now but I'm hoping to go out later and take my mind off it. It will hit me this evening though as she normally snuggles up to me when I'm on the sofa. the only good thing though is that I'll be relieved of injecting her insulin tonight and tomorrow morning. Absolutely dread doing it.

Just thought I'd share my feelings :o(

ps meant to reply that when i had to take my dog in for an op, i cried (even though he was coming back the same day). When i took my husband in for an op (not at the vets i hasten to add) i couldn't get out of there quick enough so i could go and eat crap food, and lay lie a starfish in the bed

I cried when I took my Yogi in for xrays, he had to be put out for a little bit, I cried when I picked him up as well as he looked so vulnerable.

I know Tiggs, and I'd be same in your shoes too, imagining her scared n lonely. When in reality she's probably also being spoilt rotten there and plotting her revenge on you for leaving her in the first place!

Can she have treats when she comes home? If so, go out this afternoon and get them for her.

Although I'm not actually sure that the vets would take Eric over night, he has a 'note' on his file regarding his rather severe adversion to vets. :c(

I've got plenty of Wiskas Temptations which she loves so she'll be well spoilt. I suppose the revenge will come in the form of a yukky fur ball although I haven't seen her grooming herself in a long time!

Lol CD, Yogi is the same. I had to stay with him while they injected the sedative and I didn't leave til he was knocked out, when I collected him, he was locked in a cage!

I was asked to 'leave the room' when Eric was having his vaccinations... He was using me as leverage to try and attack the vet and his assistant (who had to be called in to help and who Eric then attemped to swipe his claw at her eye). I wouldn't mind but he is clearly the runt of the litter and a complete wuss at all other times.

Tigger is normally like that CD but lately she's just scared. She used to leave near enough a bloodbath at the vets before.

You must be a very good pet owner and I know it is hard for you however she is in the best place just now.

My dads cat has diabetes but he doesn't have insulin. He has a very strict diet and drinks a shed load of water. They're going away on saturday and I have to go in to see the cat to check he has enough water, the food is on one of those automatic timer thingies.

Oh dear CD, he is worse than mine, I have to stick a muzzle on him and arm lock him round the head while whispering in his ear to calm him down. My mums old dog was the same, we always took some pok scratchings in with us to keep his mouth busy.

ps, if your cat is a normal cat, she won't be awake lonely and fretting about where you are, she'll be aslepp for 99% of the time, and that other 1% she'll be eating
