Frog Fest

Moving on from the spider in the bath. I was intreged by the story of the frog in the bog (loo), where we lived previously we used to have a frog and toad fest around March they would troop in there dozens to our pond around dusk and have a veritable orgy. It was impossible to sleep at night for the noise of the croaking , the whole pond would be roiling with coupling frogs. In the morning we would have to fish out dead females that had drowned from the weight of their lovers. On the odd occasion smaller fish were also belly up.

Funnily enough while this was going on the heron with whom we had an on going battle was never to be seen -wonder why ?
