//// The Dalai Lamas said that that violence could spiral out of control among the “mature, sensible and law-abiding” English had set alarm bells ringing. ///

/// He also disclosed that he had written to David Cameron to express his sadness in the wake of the trouble and urged him to get to the bottom of the causes. ///

He's trying Your Holiness, he is giving out parenting vouchers.

As someone who lives in Croydon I would make two points:

First, most of the people in Croydon are decent, including those in the parts that contain a majority of immigrants.

Secondly our politicians are running scared of the postmodern media. Even the faintest whiff of the new postmarxist usage of the word "racist" makes them avoid the issues...

Surely it wasn't the mature, sensible, and law-abiding English who rioted, but rather savages, many of whom probably didn't have any right to be here in the first place.
Surely violence can't spiral out of control in mature, sensible and law abiding people by definition.
What's it to do with him anyway?

To be bluntly frank, i'm quite dismissive of an old man's (who doesn't even live here- never has) musings on another countries failings.
lol B00, at least he doesn't invade them.

One can gain much from how the world views us, especially when they can see matters that are affecting a change from how once we were viewed.

Perhaps we ourselves dismiss these things as the general changes of time, when we should be looking up and addressing these obvious unwelcome changes.
i am still here, not always sensible though i do try, i wish some and that includes the saintly Dalai Lama think before they speak.
if he cared to look, it was mostly young people taking part in these riots. Many of whom or was reported had previous convictions. Perhaps he should have gone to specsavers, or was that trashed as well.
After today I was quite happily considering throwing some computers out of a sixth floor window, and I generally think I'm quite mature and sensible... It was the double glazing that put me off.

I think the discussion that people are getting to breaking point in general is an interesting one. We are noticing a rise in referrals to social services because a parent has come in with mental health, drinking or substance abuse related problems rather than a child with similar problems. It's not an excuse but I am beginning to wonder if the recession is starting to have a serious effect on some peoples coping mechanisms. Just a musing more than a particular point I'm trying to make.
China as someone who has been in the system and seen others like me, struggling to cope, it is often a long term problem, not something that happens overnight. I have come across some who have had problems with both alcohol and drugs, long time habits, which are often hard to break.
These can lead to mental health issues, that often get missed by health care professionals. I don't have any answers but i am not sure that it's a new thing for many, just same old problems resurfacing in difficult times.
No, not a new thing at all em, that wasn't my point. My point was the referral numbers are increasing, and I'm wondering what part the state of the country is playing on peoples spirits so to speak.

First, most of the people in Croydon are decent, including those in the parts that contain a majority of immigrants.

Secondly our politicians are running scared of the postmodern media. Even the faintest whiff of the new postmarxist usage of the word "racist" makes them avoid the issues altogether.

As the gateway for several hundred thousand new people entering the country every year London is under stress and Croydon, the home of Lunar House, is especially under stress. We cannot just invite 5 million people a decade, equivalent to 50% of the population of London, into the country without expecting trouble.

The postmarxists are truly happy with the riots, the whole point is to create perpetual revolutionary tension and they are succeeding. What has happened is that political discussion has been replaced by getting a spurious moral high ground then accusing anyone who discusses a political issue of being "evil". Free speech has been abandoned in this deconstructed world so we are forbidden from being "sensible".

The only answer is to stop teachers from spreading postmodern propaganda in schools and to expose the use of poststructuralist journalism wherever it occurs. See http://pol-check.blog...oststructuralism.html . Decent people must oppose what is happening by exposing it and reviling it.
