A few of us headed into the far North (Camden) last night to see a Kate McGill gig at Camden Barfly.

We got a cab from Victoria, arrived at Barfly about two hours early.

So across the road was a sign saying "Caipirinha Bar". With a collective "Yay" ... we headed over.

It was SO dodgy!! (quite nice Caipirinhas, though). Then we ate in a pub down the road, also dodgy, called The Monarch? something like that. We ended up in a bar on the opposite corner from the Barfly ... dodgy again.

Are there other places where all the bars seem a bit dodgy???

C'mon JJ..what was dodgy then ?

Dodgy is run down, looks like the sort of place where you wouldn't ask for a shot, in case it was taken too literally.

Caipirinha??? ... it's a cocktail made with cachasa and limes. We have a fab Caipirinha Bar here. The one in Camden was ... err, dodgy.

The bloke running it was nice though, to be fair.
I love Camden, used to go there when I lived in London, it was only up the road, you see some spectacular sights there.
That's how dim and uneducated I am, what's cachasa?
Anything clean and sparkly in Camden would look out if place, it's not about money either, I think it's just how people like it there. Grungy!

The Russians have vodka.

The Brits have gin.

The Swiss have ... err, okay, nothing.

The Mexicans have tequila.

And the Brazilians ... have cachasa.
Question Author
grungy, yes!
Ahh, I googled it. TBH I think most of the bars round hear will not have heard of it.

hi JJ x
havent had that cachasa before-might have a pint this weekend and give it a go
it is all part of the Camden charm !!!
Question Author
BJ ... I'd maybe try a slightly smaller glass??

murray ... yes, it IS all part of the charm.

And, you'll notice, although these bars were dodgy, we still went in and had drinks in them. ... (LOL, the barmen probably though ... "bleedin' dogdy Brighton birds"")
