Last night we went out for dinner to a very nice local restaurant. It was quite busy, lots of tables of businessmen having dinner, and couples. Lovely decor and food and wine are fab. Just after we ordered I noticed a waitress leading 3 teenage boys to the table opposite us. They were dressed in cut off jeans and flip flops. One played on his ifone through their entire meal, one put his headphones in and listed to his ipod and the 3rd one amused himself by stacking up the salt and pepper pots. Quite why they went out for dinner together I dont know as they barely communicated with each other , apart from squeezing the lemon in the garnish onto each others food.Although I have to say they weren't rowdy and didnt bother anybody, they did look very out of place, esp the one with his headphones in the entire time.

So my Q is, if you are out and aout and decide to pop in somewhere for a meal, and you are looking at the restaurant menus in their windows etc, do you look at who is eating in there already, and does it affect your decision to go in or not?

I look to see if anyone is in there as don't want to go somewhere with no atmosphere. I don't really care about what individuals are doing though.
I don't go in if it looks like it is full of nosy busybodies ......
Same as China. I wouldn't go in of there was nobody else in there. But then I suppose someone has to be first don't they.

lick??
For Funks Sake click even
I just go by the menu
That soda is cheap at 80 cents
That would depend at what time it is. I wouldn't expect a restaurant to busy at 6pm.
lol smowball... just because they werent dressed or behaving like everyone else they still probably went out for dinner because they were hungry. Its not a set in stone rule you have to communicate with each other either... im not getting at you by saying that, its just my view..... personally if someone wasnt dressed like everyone else (ive never dressed like most people) or fiddling with stuff i would just ignore it, like you said they werent rowdy....

i dont really bother seeing whos in restaurants before i go in them, i have lots of family who own restaurants in most towns from here to lands end lol so i would just go in one of those if i was hungry and they were nearby.... and if annoying folk did come in i would just take my food in the back or upstairs if it bothered me too much lol
lol at mick and lick jnos link...
Was it a local restaurant for local people?

I go by the menu.
its there are lots of kids i won't go in, other than that i'm not fussy
I'd only look at the menu and not notice who's in there till I'm sat down.
i know smow thats why i said i wasnt getting at you by what i said first.. and i guess if i was in a place where i couldnt just up and take my dinner to go watch tv i would just eat it quick and go....
