Yesterday a woman came into the shop with her mum, her son and daughter. She told me she was wanting school shoes for her wee boy as he was starting school in August. So I gladly measured him up and brought through a selection of shoes. She looked at them all before saying ' Are all boys school shoes that clumpy looking?' What was she expecting something delicate and dainty and elegant for the wee man? Because thats how it came across and I have to admit it made my day.

I cant imagine any boy wanting to wear dainty shoes, in fact the daintier the shoe the more pairs you have to buy because they dont last long.

A lot of children never wear proper shoes before they start school, so she may never have bought shoes before, only trainers.

I agree, I mean we sell great quality shoes but even some of the dainty shoes aren't quite so dainty. I've seen first hand what some kids do to shoes and its madness
