Saw the dressage event today where all the effort was done by the horse with just someone in a top hat sat astride. It's the same with show jumping, the horse doing the business.

really? Could you get a horse to do it?
Nay, nay, nay
Off course they should be part of the Olympics. It is a joint effort between horse and rider.

Could i get a horse to do all the work? Is that what the Olympics is about?
I think formula one should be an Olympic event !
Or should it be neigh, neigh, neigh which ever way no, same as Football and Tennis
You could be right tony formula 1 works with horse power
Have you any idea how many different subtle rider body movements are required to get a horse to perform like that in dressage? Obviously not.
Apart from which you have to memorise the whole routine:

What would be your criteria for the Olympic Games Islowry?

not relying on animals, that's for sure.
Agree Islowry. Should be entirely one persons efforts with no other person/beast involved.

That our ruin many events , especially the rowing.
Would
Lol mamya
when i was a girl we had a Charolais bulloch (we called him whitey) and he could do lots of clever tricks, like errrrr, actually he couldn't but our 2 ponies, Jet and Millie Mollie Mandy could do all sorts, even take apples from our pockets and untie their halters.
When was the last time you sat on a horse and expected it to do anything (apart from bolt) without being trained? The horse, not you. Doubt you could be.
