I've always been a shy person. There's this guy, he has a girlfriend, he's cute, but I don't have feelings for him. We've been going to the same church for almost 2 years now and it wasn't until this summer, at camp when he actually said hey to me, and tbh I was shocked because he'd NEVER said anything to me. Since then, he's talked to me for a few minutes only 2 times, but he's started the conversation both times. Like today, (first time he's talked to me in 2 weeks)..... Our youth group went to Burger King for one of the kid's birthday after church, and he sat next to me and we talked for about 2 minutes because I had to leave. /: I know I should start talking to him, but should I, him having a girlfriend? Me and her are friends.

Also, every time he talks to me, he usually wears gym shorts, and he starts messing with one of the ends of them, like he's fidgeting or something. I feel like people just don't really know what to say to me because I don't talk that much, and I can be an awkward person sometimes.... /: Do you think that's what it is?

It's just shyness. You'll get over it when you get older. Now that the 'ice is broken' you shouldn't have too much trouble talking to him, or any other group member.
How do you 'get over' shyness?
1. He has a girlfriend, so you're not going to go out with him.

2. It's fine to chat with him.

3. You don't want his girlfriend to get the wrong idea, especially if she's also your friend, so ...

4. When you see your girlfriend, say " I was talking to [Bob, or whatever] the other day. He seems really nice."

She will be flattered, because everyone likes people to say nice things about their other half (as long as its not "hey, your boyfriend is really good in bed" LOL)
No, tell her he is no good in bed at all.
Apart from that, see posts above.
Maybe he feels the same way you do about him and simply wants to be friends (it's perfectly possible for men and women to just be friends). It is difficult when you are shy and unsure, if you see him with his girlfriend and its not intruding, go over and say 'hi' to them both. That way you can make 2 new friends and when he chats with you in the future its probable you will both feel more comfortable
