How Did Pet Cats And Dogs Survive

before special cat and dog food?
They obviously did and, as far as I know, before 1920 dog biscuits were available as treats but no specific food. Now it is a huge industry, supermarket shelves dedicated to it and we even have companies that deliver nothing but pet food.
Get the feeling we've been had?

My cat had a peculiar taste in food, as well as normal catfood she liked mandarin oranges, curry, malt loaf and Harvey's Bristol Cream. She used to take this of my fingers 10 fingers so we didn't double dip!
