Every year CS [ Chief Stout my better half of 26 years] asks wold you like to go out for Valentines and he always gets the same answer no thank you for one night the restaurants hike up their prices, the place is full and the service is rotten because they are twice as busy as normal and struggle to cope. I am happy to go the day before or day after the event
Anyone else feel like this ?
Yes Dee.....local restaurant has really hiked up prices for one night. The rose and romantic music work out quite expensive....have a fun party instead....visit your charity shop for goodies. x
I agree with the rip off side of things. I work in a small country pub as the owner has decided that the only menu on Thursday is going to be a 3 course one at £25 a head... bloody swizz if you ask me... she does the same at Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, etc... Anything for a quick profit...
I usually work Valentine's Day evenings, but we do go for a meal that week when, as you mention, Dee Sa, the prices arent hiked up and the service rushed, rude and rotten.......nothing worse than trying to have a romantic meal together and finding that the table layout that night has everyone almost sharing one large table, so you have zero privacy....
