Talking Of Friends
6 Answers
Just after reading Jacklee's posts and his friends - I would like to tell you of my friend who lives pretty far - fell in the garden and on landing her back crashed into like a concrete planter - she got up and got into the house and phoned this friend - now she only knows this friend about 3 months as they walk their dogs together - the friend came round - (my friend wouldn't send for doctor) anyway applied gel to black back - administered painkillers, made her dinner and left breakfast, lunch and made dinner for the rest of the week - Also made sure she had a supply of ciggies/shopping for her. To me that was a true friend indeed. Mind you this friend (mine) has a whole of relatives around but I don't ask questions there. There is some goodness there. By the way I did offer to travel down to see her but she said she was feeling better. So I left it at that.

My sister is 93 and her son has had to move into hospital for a wee while.
I phone her every night and am glad when she has had a good day and am a shoulder to cry on if not so good.
Let's all promise to igore all the papers report about unpleasant people - there are still lots of lovely folk around - real friends.
Great suggestion, Mamy - can we all make just one call tonight - how about to someone you haven't heard from recently - and report back tomorrow.
Best wishes to all. LOL

Hi Jacklee - very nice to meet you - I would certainly say you have been a good lad in your day and and today as well. It struck me how strong you were as when your good lady wife had to go into nursing care how strong you are. I do hope your friends and that gentleman friend that took you out for a pint still stands as if you were living round me - I would stand you a pint. Please take care yourself - God bless. Beleieve it or not there are all young people around me - I am myself over 60 - so it is all young families. But when old people did enter my estate I did take care to take note of them. Bye for now and if you need a chat or two you can call on Connemmara - bye for now AGAIN. hhahhahaha
