I notice on Facebook theres a new post going around that allows you to see who on your friends list has 'liked' the EDL page. The post also urges you to 'defriend' them.

This is obviously in the wake of Woolwich. Theres alot of misguided anger which wouldve caused people to knee-jerk the EDLs 'like' button.

I have many friends of both extreme right and extreme left. White, Black, Gay, Straight. I would never defriend someone because I didnt agree with their ideology.

I find the concept both childish and fascist. Surely alienating people who are a bit misguided will push them further to the right and they will seek out like minded people and only seek out extreme right thinking. Surely its more constructive to educate them with stories like the one from the York mosque whereby the Muslims were accommodating to the EDL?

This sounds like a thing that was going round on FB in which you could see who last looked at your profile or who looked at it the most... some sort of wording like that... anyway, obviously if I clicked on a mates thing I came up, it was a kind of joke/trick.

I realise this is incredibly poorly worded but your post made me think of that scam so I wondered if perhaps a similar thing is being done now was all.

I would tend to agree. you can look at any page and see which of your friends "liked" it.

posts like that are usually a viral thing.

I have unfriended a couple of people on Facebook as their wall posts regarding the issue of the Lee Rigby murder and Muslims (which appeared on my feed) were offensive in the extreme. People like that are beyond reason and I want nothing to do with them.

its not a scam. I did try it and it showed up one of my 300 odd friends had 'liked' EDLs page. Doesnt decry his many positive qualities though.

Oh the left can quite fascist. Fascism is where the far Right meets the far Left in the wheel of politics.

Greenies can be the most conservative of any. They preach peace, love and reconciliation in all kinds of politically correct ways. But they are horrible to any who they perceive as holding values different from their own.

Locally we have a "Harmony" festival which supposedly celebrates different cultures. It is publicised with platitudes and images of people in traditional dress. But watch out if your culture involves going to the footy or the devil's own sport, drag racing.
