Oh Dear,stuart Hall

Lancashire police are investigating further allegations concerning Hall.[ Source: Sky News] These are presently unspecified, but we can be sure they are not shoplifting but sexual. If they are simply indecent assaults, then perhaps the CPS won't bother, but what do you think? If they turn out to be just that, would you want him brought back to court in due course, even though, in any event, he might be free by then? If one or more turns out to be rape, he is in deep trouble if convicted and may well die in jail.

We live in a different age now. Some of these crimes were not taken seriously years ago, but they are now, and not before time.
All I ask is that due diligence is applied in cases like these, in the same way as any other crimes.

I'm not sure that is what I said Sqad. I want every crime to be pursued with the same vigour. It is up to the CPS to decide whether or not to prosecute. Investigating crimes that are so old presents problems for the Police but it isn't impossible, as can be seen by the recent trial of Hall. The victims may want their day in court as well. Perhaps these victims should be consulted as to whether to proceed or not.
He'd have hadf the chance to have other crimes taken into account wouldn't he Fred? If so huge error if they were 'only' sexual assault ( I don't mean to trivialise them by that terminology simply keep their severity on context with a possible rape charge.) If it's a rape charge then as you say oh dear, what a nasty piece of work.
Well, not strictly, because they weren't known of, Shari, but I know what you mean. They might have been t.i.c'd, or left on the file, last time, if they were known then.
The CPS might decide that there's no benefit to the public interest in prosecuting. If it's a rape they will. If it's one or two indecent assaults , they won't.
