Dogs Ears Going Bald?!

Hey there

My two year old Yorkie used to have very fluffy ears, but recently they seem to have lost a lot of their fur. The remaining fur on the outside of the ears is very short and if you pull it ever so slightly it comes out in little clumps, particlrly around the very edges of his ears. The clumps often come off with what looks like quite big (some the size of half a little fingernail) pieces of black skin?! He's in absolutely no pain and actually appears to enjoy it, often going all dopey and sleepy as you do it.

I wondered whether anyone has any idea what it could be. We're booked in at the vet next week and ill bring it up then but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I've seen some articles online about leather ear, could it be that??

Thanks everyone

It is almost certainly 'leather ear'. Your Vet will confirm and prescribe ointments and cleaning lotion.
