Our new singer Jade is now settling in nicely and we've been going through a few of the songs she performed regularly before joining us - this is one of them.
For the full (5-piece) version of the band this was our first rehearsal in about a month (Xmas and all that) so we were pretty rusty, but we had one quick run-through then recorded this as a single take, i.e. no overdubs.
Musically I can only really talk about the bass, what there is of it - this is a song where I get to have a bit of a rest! Having only changed the strings about a fortnight ago there's still a lot of top end, and at first I wasn't happy with the mildly 'dirty' sound here but, the more I listen to it, the more I like it; gives the thing a bit of edge.
Backing vocals are a bit ropey as they always are in rehearsal. We rehearse at the guitarist's house and all use headphones, which makes vox difficult for me at least - the Sennheiser cans I use are very enclosed so there's no natural resonance when I sing.
Anyway, enough excuses! Enjoy!
