Given their known dislike of canines I hope nothing bad befalls the unlucky cur, but knowing these savages I won't hold my breath.

Confirmed as British Forces dog, used by SAS in an operation just before Christmas:

As we are now some 7 weeks on one can only surmise the dog has been dealt with by the Taliban, though I hope I'm wrong.
I felt very sad when I read that story. Poor dog, I just hope is alright, but I doubt it.
I bet his SAS handler is beside himself, too :-(
Poor creature, heaven help him.

Indeed boxy. Dog handlers build a special bond with their dog, which is doubtless heightened in such circumstances and in extremis.
Losing colleagues is tough, for a handler to lose an animal that shows him such unconditional love and affection must be equally soul destroying.
