Hi, Pixie....cheeky as ever, isn't he?....☺
Now you know how Michaelangelo felt when he dropped his paintbrush off the scaffolding in the Sistine Chapel, striking who he thought was his sponsor, Giulilo II, (Julius II)better known as the "Warrior Pope" or "Il Papa Terribile," who was notorious for his temper and execution of those who upset him.

And then imagine his relief when he realised that he had accidentally hit the Archbishop of Siena, the incident creating the colour what was then known as Tuscan Red.

Thank you, DTC.....pity there wasn't a stray pope wandering about in my hall......Oh the fun I could have had...☻
Gness...resist all siren calls for re-decoration !

Shirley Conran once said that life was too short to start stuffing mushrooms. I think it applies to decorating as well. Nobody ever died of not painting their ceilings every 2 years. You will find that after a year or two, that Brilliant White will fade into a very fetching cream colour, very fashionable these days. Also in the same frame is one of my favourite quotes from Quentin Crisp, a personal here of mine ::

"There is no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse"
Yikes!
Question Author
