Quite likely, sandy. Although whether he would admit to still doing it now, is doubtful. You certainly can't blame his friend and i can understand him experimenting when really stressed.
/Go out on a weekend and I think you'd be surprised how many people are on it./
We do our shopping on a saturday quite often, I will have to watch people more closely. Is there something sinister about those groups of people who block the aisles in the supermarket?
I used to live in and run a pub.. you'd be very surprised how many people use cocaine... it's as common as smoking, if not more, as you can do it in the loo rather than having to go stand outside in the cold or rain! People of all ages take it... I babysat for a couple once who used to drink in the pub.. first time they were going out after babys birth, a 6 week old. They did a line of coke each before they went out and asked me if i'd like some!!
Possibly Sandy, perhaps they have been swigging in the 'spirits' aisle out of sight of the surveillance cameras. To get to what I assume is the nub of you post, it does amaze me at times how people cheerily encourage their 'friends' to 'have one more' (for the road)or offer them a fag when they are trying to give up tobacco, or more cake when they are trying to diet. There are time when our 'friends' are our worst enemies.
With this guy it is always someone else's fault sandy and he treats women really badly...(maybe when he is taking time out to sort out his deamons he should take in a few lessons on how to treat people properly and how not to humiliate girlfriend in public and dump them in public). He did this to someone who stuck by him (a friend!/partner) and look at how he treated her. I do not care what she was like - she is somebody and did she deserve that treatment from him? - nobody deserves to be treated like that. He's an ignorant bully, and a moron and he will be those things with or without a drink.
Completely away from his trial -- As a result of his deplorable behaviour towards women, the guy has completely lost my respect.
I have seen people stick their neck out for this guy and it is wasted on him and when the heat is on he will turn around and blame them. What you describe I wouldn't do as I would realise a vulnerable person (I think) but he has cash and a supplier or dealer will know this and perhaps him calling them a friend is said to benefit him and have people feel pity on him being taken advantage of (he's usual take on things).
