Question Author
wouldn't fancy sunbathing amongst that lot
The locals wont be happy if the sand dunes & beach get blown away by the wind!
Question Author
no indeed, wonder if this is where DT has been blown to
My printer who lives their is firking furious.
Question Author
i'll bet, its horrible
oh dear, there not their.....!
Question Author
no matter, i know what you mean
Nice ice cream there, they serve the Zennor Moomaid in the shop on the right.....though Treleavens from Looe is my fav, after Jelberts in Newlyn but they only have the one store.
(actually Porthtowan is a bit of a dump, though very good for the beach and surfing - I would hate to stay there).
Question Author
i don't recognise the name or place, but have been to Cornwall plenty of times, that looks an eyesore mind you
Redruth and out to the North Coast, emmie, around the corner Portreath, also a dump, and then Gwithian and Godrevy Beaches....the latter is fab for young kids.
Question Author
we drove around quite a lot, and walked a fair bit, i had stayed in Fowey a number of time, some years ago, we liked Lostwithiel, beautiful place and very friendly.
St Ives for us when we were kids - had a holiday flat right on one of the beaches as my grandparents couldn't put us up/didn't want to put us up......great fun as we got to know other kids on hols and some locals.
Question Author
we stayed in Lostwithiel for our entire holiday, having found a lovely B&B, the lady of the house rather took a shine to Mr Em, plus we found a fab place to eat, and proceeded to try and drink the place dry.
Question Author
then travelled around looking at all the lovely out of the way villages,
shame what they have done to Land's End mind you.
I've stayed in Mevagissey!
Can't the locals form a posse and just go and pull them up? I don't think I would require much pulling; I bet the roots are dead!
A disaster there.... the West Penwith area is fab though and wonderful to visit, very inspirational to artists, potters and writers. Current crop includes the likes of Kurt Jackson and I love some of his work, esp his Scilly and Penwith work. http://www.kurtjackson.com/
That's a lovely picture DTC.
My family and I spent Christmas and new year in Padstow, Cornwall a few years ago, it was great ( not many tourists around ). Can't say that I remember seeing any Christmas trees growing on the beaches then though.
