Mad Over Fifties Club

Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers for tonight's meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club.
Igor is at the main entrance, eagerly waiting for members to arrive so he may relieve them of their coats, cloaks and broomsticks ready for their concealment in a variety of places throughout the Towers known only to himself (members are reminded that their items are left at their own risk and the management cannot guarantee their safe retrieval at the end of our revels)
Tonight's Tailcock will be the "Black Cloud" as I am currently under one my team having thrown away their chance of a title this season. Roll on season 2014/15 and better things!
Our Hot Plate Special Tonight will be roast chicken with all the usual trimmings, of course there will also be our world famous volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers. On the pudding trolley tonight we have Lemon Meringue pie, with strawberries fresh from our very own green houses, and whipped cream.
Members are welcome to try any and all of the facilities here at the Towers.
The indoor pool in the dungeons awaits his first swimmers (we have swimsuits available for those who didn't bring one with them, indoor pool doesn't approve of skinny dipping) The bungee is ready, with new elastics atop the highest Tower, (beware of the piranhas in the moat) and on the North Tower you will find the hot tub and mini bar. Members are welcome to wander the grounds and gardens, and by the lake the rowing boats are ready for use, as is the race track, race cars are also prepared ready for members wishing to try their hand at racing. Indoors we have usual treats. Playing in the Ballroom tonight are Alf Rodrigues and his Latin Banditos, for members who might fancy tripping the light fantastic, later on we may have some karaoke. Yet again the Minstrels have managed to circumvent the security measures and are setting up to give us the usual fare of madrigals and toccattas! how are they managing to get in?
Members are requested not to feed the Triffid in the conservatory, but we have left out some fruit etc. for the spider monkey who may come down to be fed by hand. This and many other treats are available to members. Why not have a stroll down to the stables and meet the Llamas, alpacas and Spot the Zebra? We also have nice little herd of goats who were left with us for a brief spell but who are still with us and have multiplied! We're keeping the babies!
for the rofl tonight I offer:
a back four defence with more holes in it than my kitchen sieve
a referee in need of a guide dog (there's no way that goal was offside!)
and a
very large boot for booting the backsides of players who are in need of a good boot up the proverbial!
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals though if anyone from A Madrid looks near, the cannons have been loaded
carriages at midnight

Lost connection at 8pm, thank goodness Eric has a built in radar. For the rifle I have
Ball of green garden twine
Pair if rarely used gardening gloves size small, colour (beneath the mud, pink unfortunately)
Pair of secateurs (only slightly rusty after the spring downpours)
Dozen plant markers with pen

Evening all
You could sub in Daisy and Villa here - and with a bit of adaption, Tony....
A poem for Nungate – to be read on the 19th of May.
She is such a joyful winner but Nungate does not like to lose
Her favourite team lost at the weekend so she went on the booze
She could not go to work today Nungate feels fuzzy in the head
And nursing her tailcock hangover, she lay at home in bed.
A football mad ‘young’ person Nungate surely loves the game
To be the MoFC's best barracker is her great claim to fame
At every goal her team kicks she whoops aloud in joy
The lady in her late something at heart Nungate remains a tranny boy.
Her Barcelona beanie in her Club colours to bed she even wears
Her Barca as important to her as her hubbie and Queenie, her type no longer rare
In the pub with her drinking gals their main topic is football
The great players and the winners and the losers of the games they recall.
Her team lost at the weekend but Nungate is in bed today
For too much commiserating the price she has to pay
She proudly wears the Barca colours of her favourite football team
And every rare victory that they are good for her self esteem.

Hey Daisy, lovely to see you again, a nice selection of goodies there for the rofl. I assume you've been out in garden. Did a tiny bit myself this afternoon - I potted up a magnolia stellata into a large pot. Mr N told me I should have brought my trowel, I used my hands took ages to clean them afterwards!
Igor seems to be having computer issues this evening so chances are he won't be with us in person only in spirit! He should be able to attend to his duties as usual.

Hi DT, you've just about summed it all up beautifully! I did vent rather a lot during the match, goodness knows what Queenie's beau must think as I was anything but quiet, Mr N was of the opinion that it was bad for my blood pressure and I should switch off - I'd have been worse by my reckoning. We'll just have to write this season off as a bad one and come back better next year (preferably with a decent defence and a goalie as good as Valdes) We also lost our beloved Puyol who retired, he will be a great loss ('scuse me I need some tissues......)
I have a tried and trusted method of gardening. Weed 10 minutes, read 10 minutes, repeat as needed. I find if I just keep gardening I get very tired rather quickly so stopping every 10 minutes means I can get so much more done. 4 hours yesterday meant 2 hours actual work. Had I worked without a break would have been incapable of anything after half an hour.
No alcohol in sight!

You'd like my type of weeding then Daisy. I just point at the weed and best beloved pulls it out of the ground! As I don't have too good a grip these days I don't do much in the weeding line, I pot things up and direct the labour from my chair (though the other day it was from the open window in the dining room where I sat giving directions to Queenie and best beloved) It's a very convenient way to garden!
The benefits of having staff Daisy! If they weren't here to do it the garden would be well overgrown as it is most of it is gravelled over, one of the reasons we moved here was because I couldn't manage to do any gardening at all, not I have things in pots and just muddle along, Queenie and Best B. water for me and all the other stuff. Was sorely tempted to buy some delphiniums today at the garden centre, there's a nice little patch in the farthest corner but is visible from the house which I (with assistance) could make into a nice little flower bed - will have to "work" on the staff to help me get it done
