Changing AOL Buddy Sounds
Our AOL software crashed last week. We have had to instal the AOL 9.0 software again. We have several family members and friends set up on our Buddy list and I chose a Chimes sound as the Buddy Out sound. Now I get a door slam noise when a Buddy signs off AOL and it's driving me mad!
What is also driving me mad is the fact that I obviously changed the Buddy Out sound before, but now can't remember how I did it! I've tried a few things that haven't worked. A search on AOL help hasn't proved helpful either.
Can some kind fellow AOLer and ABer tell me how I can change the door slam back to my nice chimes sound please. I'd be very grateful!

What version of windows are you using? It's a very simple procedure to change allocated sounds. On ME click "Start" button bottom left of screen. Select "Settings" then "Control Panel". When screen loads double click on "Sounds and Audio Devices", choose the "Sounds" tab on the folder top and then scroll down in the window until you reach "AOL_UK (default Sounds)", under this heading you will find all the allocated sounds when you find the ones for "Buddyin" "Buddyout" highlight and then using browse put in the sound you require. Dead Simple :-)
