I like to hear a success story. Despite all the negative publicity about Free Schools or Academies, here is a story where the number of places at Oxbridge from an East End Free School rivalled Eton.

I'm glad something is going well, but it would be an ill wind indeed if every single one of them disappointed. I think the biggest concern is the idea the taxpayer funds schools that is not under the taxpayers' representatives' control. It is wrong in principle. If there are best practices to be learnt from, then it should not need this giving cash to outside groups in order to find them.
