The weather is so awful and the grey day was stretching ahead so we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast out...eggs benedict for me, and a breakfast bap for him. It was the second best eggs benedict I've ever had, the best was somewhere in Fowey a few years ago. It's always my breakfast of choice although it can be hit and miss, the one in Fowey got everything perfect, the one today had a bit too much sauce, which was too runny, but the eggs were lovely.
I do love a nice bacon sarnie too..thick white unsliced bread, butter, tomato sauce and loads of bacon.
Given the choice, what would you choose for your perfect breakfast on a wet bank holiday Monday?

I could go a big fat fry or a nice kedgeree but I've nothing in the fridge to make either, I had to settle for a couple of slices of toast.
Fresh fruit, must include pineapple and fresh rasps/strawbs.

Cinnamon and raisin French toast with crispy bacon and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Copious amounts of Assam tea........or a Bloody Mary depending on whether it is breakfast or brunch.

Ideally all enjoyed in the sunshine.........:-(
A big fry up minus the beans and black pudding.
Forgot to say, I had ready brek today. Bit boring but going to a bbq later so didn't want to over-do it.

Never had kedgeree rocky, don't know why as it does appeal. And a fry up always hits the spot, gotta have beans and black pud with it though tiggs ;)
Never fancy fruit in the morning for some reason Eccles, mind you I don't usually have breakfast, a cup or two of coffee is all I usually have until lunch time, need to have something substantial at the mo to take meds.
And cereal of any description makes me heave.
I like what I had today, thick white unsliced bread toasted with real butter on and a fresh one day old boiled free range egg - yum!
Smoked haddock, poached eggs, black pepper and butter, yummy.
I love kedgeree and was always first in the queue for breakfast at mess balls.

I have a love hate relationship with breakfast. I don't like eggs in their our form so fried/poached/boiled are out. I don't eat much in the way of cereal as most disagree with me and the proprietary brands of breakfast cereal are overloaded with sugar.

So for me it is fruit or protein, I do enjoy a selection of cheese, ham salami, smoked fish and accompaniments when available.

Breakfast is something that I can only be bothered with when in a hotel the rest of the time I go without.
I had cereal and banana today - but yesterday we had a full Scottish breakfast, we'd brought all the stuff home with us and most of which is now safely in the freezer awaiting the next opportunity!
Two free-range boiled eggs and three slices of wholemeal toast together with a glass of Pomegranate juice - I really spoil myself!

Gosh, haven't had smoked haddock for years, used to love it too.
Ok boxy, got to ask, whats a full Scottish breakfast?
Mick, if it hits the spot then it's perfect :)
Eccles, were you in the forces? I'm the same about brekkie, if we're away in a hotel I'll always eat, and enjoy, a proper breakfast. Other than that, or like today, going out for a late one, forget it.
Eth - Ayrshire middle bacon, square beef sausage, black pudding, white pudding, tomato, egg - on toast. All grilled, not fried, in our house.

Mmm, sounds really nice, never had white pudding though. I was thinking along the lines of a bowl of porridge with an artfully placed piece of haggis in the middle with a sprig of heather on top ;)
LOL - there IS probably something like that, but not in our house :-)
i had cereal top with blueberrys and milk of course.
My fave is kippers on toast but they kill me, so seldom have them :-(
I like a lazy American breakfast:
A long roll in bed with a little honey ;-)
