Good luck to all our ABers and the Scots at large with the referendum today and that Scottish families and society at large unify around whatever the result is - and move on without incident or dissension. Otherwise, democracy has paid a large price.

Thomas More in 'Light of the Harem' wrote, "Alas! how light a cause may move Dissension between hearts that love! Hearts that the world in vain had tried, And sorrow but more closely tied; That stood the storm when waves were rough, Yet in a sunny hour fall off."

I hope that we quickly see unified families and a nation rising out of the ashes of this vote. Others want to join me in wishing our colleagues the best for today and in going forward as the Scotland most of us cherish?

Yes good wishes to all Scottish voters on a historic occasion

as in Good Luck - placing the X in the right box is gonna be really really difficult....
Best to you all in Scotland, I hope you make the right Move.
Hope that my aim is true later this morning...
Jim as a math

you should be asking - put X in the box ...... Y ?

blimey I hope you arent cross eyed.
Yeah they are seriously discussing whether writing " f - off poiky " - referring I am sure to that awful Alex Salmond can be counted as a 'no' and whether it depends on where you write it

Good Luck Lads - worse than 11+ that's what I say
Aye. Good luck to our eastern cousins whatever way the vote goes.
Thank you,DTCwordfan - it's a very worrying time for us. I've been sad to see so many anti-Scots posts on AB. Be you English,Irish Scottish or Welsh in my eyes we are all British.

Let's hope you get the right result for Scotland, and it doesn't get hijocked along the way!
I don't think there are many anti-Scot posts, maybe plenty of dispassionate posts but not 'anti'

I can't see why anyone would wish them good luck, that makes no sense to me.

Dispassion yes, a lack of compassion perhaps ^?

It's about looking forward, Talbot, and repairing the friction that this has caused between families and Scottish society at large.

dispassionate means unbiassed, even minded
and yes there could be dispassionate posts

unpassionate is limp and bored
Question Author
dispassionate: not influenced by strong emotion, and so able to be rational and impartial.
talbot - suggest you put Independence into the AB search facility and read through some of the posts - the anti scottish sentiment is plain to see
This will keep you up to speed as the results come in but if it's looking like a Yes vote Scottish ABers may lose connection;-)
