/// He said the UK has a 'duty' to act and could not leave responsibility for keeping the British people safe to other countries. ///
If the British people were to be attacked from within, which other countries would bother?
/// 'Is there a threat to the British people? The answer is yes,' he said. 'ISIL has already murdered one British hostage and has threatened to murder two
more.' ///
Are these the British people Cameron is talking about, and not the whole body of British people who happen to live in the safe UK?

That would not suit economic interests (oil + comfort + vested interests) so the equivalent of 'keeping Hitler on the mainland' are what the moral cowards are adopting.

We could take the 'Do nothing' option, do you think that would work.
Krom, we are implicated whether we like it or not. Acts of terrorism will be acted out on the UK mainland by these home grown Jihadists that the apologists (many on this site) have allowed to grow.
If you think not taking part will mean they will not do anything against us here in 'safe' UK you are very naive.

A rare event - I am in full agreement with AOG.
For the pro-bombing brigade - Q. Why didn't we carpet bomb Ireland in the 70s when IRA terrorism was rife in this country: A. It would have been totally ineffective in stopping the terrorism and indeed would have strengthened the IRA's support immeasurably.

As I have posted on another thread, Hassan Rouhani correctly (imo) said yesterday at the UN "The right solution to this quandary comes from within the region and a regionally provided solution with international support and not from the outside the region."
The more we bomb, the more terror we can expect on the UK mainland.
Graham; There's plenty of oil elsewhere.

Indeed, terrorist attacks in the UK aren't accidents. But they present no more danger to the stability of the state and its institutions than any accident does.
The can leave survivors suffering a lifetime of pain, and relatives and friends of those killed with grief filled days, but no more than that.

My answers here have been serious. A few terrorist incidents won't change anything.
Look at the situation in NI during Thatcher's early days in office. She is said to have considered, but quickly rejected, plans to redraw the border. If that had happened it would have come about because of years of near civil war. A few isolated incidents would never have brought such a plan to the attention of senior politicians.
