Good Hiking Boots
12 Answers
I intend to go on a trekking holiday through jungle, savannah and desert. Can anyone recommend a good pair of boots? This will be in summer in high temperatures.
Cheers in advabce.

It really depends on your feet as some styles fit better than others although will be equally good quality, you need to get yourself to a proper outdoor store.
Good makes are Scarpa, Salomon, Berghaus, Meidle, Merrell and many others.
My OHs personal favourite are Zamberlan boots as he finds them very comfy. he has done most of the Munros along with loads of other stuff. His summer boots are Zamberlan.
Goretex is the business but you will need to balance waterproofness with weight and breathability.
Try a few pairs on - they usually have wee rocky hills built in the shop for you to try them up and down slopes - some decent socks will be a must - we all favour Merino wool for comfort and keeping your feet dry - wool is the way to go even in summer as cotton etc will get damp with sweat and then start to rub - trust me I've been there!
