I don't think they make boots for feet as large as you have...

Couldn't you get native bearers to carry you on a palanquin? Boots wouldn't be needed then.

No way sandyroe. It's immoral to treat another human as a slave although I know what you mean as some cultures practically hoist you up and would be offended if you didn't let them carry you
My shoe company, located next door to the bakery, make these:

Just be careful not to shoot yourself in the foot.
I swear by the brand 'Salomon' - they're hiking shoes are so comfy and last a longer time than merrell's. Probably best to invest in a couple of pairs - one waterproof (jungle), and one with more 'moisture wicking' and breathable capabilities (desert)
You pay them. That's far from slavery.
When we went hunting the Pygmy Shrew in Central Africa we had a train of porters numbering more than 100.
It really depends on your feet as some styles fit better than others although will be equally good quality, you need to get yourself to a proper outdoor store.

Good makes are Scarpa, Salomon, Berghaus, Meidle, Merrell and many others.

My OHs personal favourite are Zamberlan boots as he finds them very comfy. he has done most of the Munros along with loads of other stuff. His summer boots are Zamberlan.

Goretex is the business but you will need to balance waterproofness with weight and breathability.

Try a few pairs on - they usually have wee rocky hills built in the shop for you to try them up and down slopes - some decent socks will be a must - we all favour Merino wool for comfort and keeping your feet dry - wool is the way to go even in summer as cotton etc will get damp with sweat and then start to rub - trust me I've been there!
