Does any one know of caravan or camping sites near Lyon France.Also can you get a train there from Cherbourg . Would weather be better there than Normandy? Thank you

The weather is usually hot in summer but there can be thundery downpours - they soon dry up.

You can get trains from Cherbourg to Lyon, but if you're relying on public transport getting out of the city to a campsite might be awkward.

it's a bit of a hike from cherbourg (9 hours) but it's a manageable journey of 5 hours from paris.
