Why does it seem that it is almost acceptable, even rather comical when women inflict such actions upon men, yet if men were to do such things they would be angrily condemned by the female of the species?

Yes, i know what you mean, women do tend to be more "excitable" in the response to ...infidelity and yes the usual response is, from the female, society that "Good, he got what he deserved." Whereas the response of a male to female "infidelity" is perhaps.........more measured.
I suppose it is in the female genes, somewhere.

EcclesCake, would you have given that same "childish smirk" if that had been done to a woman? I guess not!
and that is why aog, suggests that it is "almost acceptable" people often find it funny when it is a man, not so funny if it was a woman. And if this video was of a Woman getting her genitals set on fire it most likely would have never been aired!

There's something fishy here ....... (yeah OK)
Nail polish remover is icy cold to the touch, as it evaporates at a low temperature.
Must we seriously believe this man was so out of it that he didn't feel his particles being kinda frozen? a chilly thingy?
Or heaven forfend could it be yet another attention-seeking setup to add to the legions of same on t'interweb.

One need not be on this Earth long before realising the female of the species gets more sympathy/leniency. Surely AOG you noticed this pre-school or primary at latest ? I think part of it is the idea that the male has to be tough and take it all without being a wimp, whilst the female are seen as the gentle weaker sex and in need of protection/understanding, regardless of reality. This converts to treating each differently by the majority of society.
I'm not sure which is the more horrible aspect of this story - the fact that this woman behaved like this, or the fact that she filmed it, or the fact that the film has been picked up and spread around the internet, or the fact that a 'respectable' national paper felt the need to report it, or that fact that the reporter from the 'respectable' national paper thought it was something to snigger about in print.
The whole thing is indicative about how our society approaches subjects for social media, reflected by the paper's attitude that this is really rather amusing, when patently it is not.
