I Can See For Miles...:-(
12 Answers
When I was buying this house the vendors kept apologising for next door's trees.....conifers planted many years ago...all around their garden and never trimmed....
I loved them.....they made my garden dark.....I never saw a sunrise because they were so high....they kept my ponds shaded.....and my morning cuppa corner of the garden was dark and damp....bliss.....☺
Some weeks ago Mrs next door said that they had been watching the progress of my garden.....it was putting hers to shame and....even though Mr next door was against it.....they were going to do their garden....starting with the trees!
And this morning the trees have come down.....I can see for miles over the countryside.....but I feel like a caught out vampire..... :-(

One day my next door neighbour pointed out that its branches were scraping the roof tiles of our two houses, meaning that tiles might get knocked off in high winds. He asked me to sign a joint letter to the council, asking them to trim the branches. Some time later I returned home one day to find that the council had simply cut the beautiful tree down. I was furious but, to make matters worse, I was verbally abused by several passers-by whom, I found out, had been told by the workmen that they were cutting the tree down because I'd complained about it!

But the sun ages redheads, DT.....
Kettering council did that, Chris.....they had one...just one lovely tree in their centre.....with seating beneath until the Lions or one of those groups offered to replace it with the most hideous clock you've ever seen.....
Must have had a mate who designed ugly clocks and needed to sell one....
We wanted the tree to stay....so it was chopped down secretly...early one morning....gone.....x
