obviously i have xmas dinner later and i'm worried about having something contagious!

yesterday i woke up with itchy patches of rash on my skin - only my ankles and shoulders strangely...
they are like clusters of red dots. not blisters or pimples

today, it is worse, and starting in other places too

no other symptoms really.

never happened before, but i do also have 3 coldsores so i took some lysine - the correct dose - but i also had some ibuprofen that has lysine in it already - so now im wondering if ive had a bit too much and its set this off?

i also have a couple of patches of eczema, but this is different

ive taken an antihistamine and put cream on

any ideas what it is? - but more importantly -could it be contagious - i dont want to spread it to my family!

thanks

I don't know either but I do know you shouldn't kiss anyone if you have cold sores, especially babies. Hope you get the answers you are looking for. xx

Do you have a sore throat?
It does sound like shingles, however there's quite a lot of pain involved with shingles too, which you don't mention. Surely a GP's advice would help?
