Other than Pinky's suggestion, the first thing I'd try is turning off the laptop, turning off the router (and disconnecting it from the phone/cable line), waiting a minute or two and then reconnecting everything.
I'd also take a look at the 'Connection' icon (at the bottom right of the screen, possibly accessed via 'Show hidden icons') to see what's shown. If it shows a connection and you've got no internet access (irrespective of whether 'Internet access' or 'No internet access' is actually shown), I'd reset the TCP/IP stack:

Doing so has fixed 'no internet problems' for me several times, and dozens of ABers have thanked me for the tip as well, so it might work for you.
