Sqad, I'm driving myself sick with worry.
I'm near 3 weeks post procedure and I ovulated about a week ago (I felt it).
Now I'm experiencing intermittent sharp twinges in my left groin and I've had 2 episodes of left shoulder pain.
Also my hormones are killing me (and my poor OH)
If, God forbid, this were another ectopic, would I be feeling this pain early on?
Should I go to GP and get bloods for HCG and have then repeated 48 hours later?
And could a Doctor sanction a prophylactic dose of Methotrexate?
Please tell me this is just normal....

\\\\If, God forbid, this were another ectopic, would I be feeling this pain early on? \\\
At best NoM, if you had had intercourse, you could only be a few days pregnant, but, of course, if you hand'r had intercourse, you couldn't be pregnant..............no an ectopic at this stage is a non starter.
\\\\Should I go to GP and get bloods for HCG and have then repeated 48 hours later? \\\\
No I cannot see how they would help at this stage, for the reasons given above.
\\\\\And could a Doctor sanction a prophylactic dose of Methotrexate? \\\
A doctor could sanction anything, but it would have to be for the benefit of the patient with minimal or no side effects. This is a non starter.

Bednobs, there are other ways to know you're ovulating, such as "egg white" discharge. Trust me, I ovulated!
Sqad, you've every right to laugh at me and I probably am being neurotic, but please hear me out.
At less than 3 weeks post procedure I could still have detectable levels of HCG in my body. If I conceived a week ago my body could start producing HCG again and so I could feasibly have higher levels of HCG than a woman would normally have at this early stage of pregnancy. In the last few days my sense of smell has gone into overdrive, I have pins and needles in my nipples, my "S" drive has gone through the roof and I nearly scalpled my OH yesterday after a perfectly innocent comment. These are all the things that alerted me to the fact I was pregnant last time. When you add in the left groin and left shoulder pain, surely I can be forgiven for thinking such thoughts.
Thanks for your reassurance, Sqad. You are usually right;)
Oh...and I may not be medically trained but I do know about the birds and the bees. I wouldn't have even considered a further pregnancy if there'd been no funny business... ;) x

NoM....this is the bottomline in a nutshell.
Prior studies have shown that over half of women who experience an ectopic pregnancy will have a healthy baby in the future either naturally or with the aid of assisted reproductive technology, although the risk of having another ectopic pregnancy is increased.

I don't know if this will be of any help NoMercy, but I have had 'Horrible Hormones' all my life and during times of upset (such as you have just had - I had an early miscarriage and, later, very weird effects during the early menopause) I experienced all the symptoms you have detailed. So it could be racing hormones up and down the switchback - as your OH will testify!
Hard for you, I'm sorry, but you have to wait it out. Fingers crossed. :) Love, J2 xx
