Blood Transfusion

can goodlife, or anyone else, explain exactly the JW policy on blood transfusion?
I believe (but may be wrong) that they will accept constituent parts of blood, if so which parts and why?
Do JWs accept organ donation? Again, if so and why (organs contain blood)
Why do JWs eat meat when meat contains blood?

Im genuinely trying to understand the ins and outs of this.

I doubt if you will get an honest answer from goodlife or anybody else within the Jehovahs witness religion. Over the years they have done a 360 degree turn, pre 1945, minor blood fractions allowed, 1945-1982 not allowed, 1982-2000 some fractions allowed, 2000 on, allowed. This is a pick and mix religion.

Thanks for replies and links. Have to agree with Vulcan so far, it does seem like a pick n mix. I just don't get that they are so against blood and yet consume it via meat, organ transplants and by taking parts of blood medically.

Always annoys me, it is so obvious to anyone with even 1/2 a brain cell that the bible instruction ''Thou shalt not take blood'' means you should not kill or injure another person, ( with which I 100% agree). Not you can not receive medical treatment.

I always thought it had something to do with the perception that "you" (i.e. soul or some such concept) reside in the blood and thus transfusion mixes up two people - or something of that nature. No doubt that is only part of the story, maybe a complete misunderstanding.

There has been no change in the thinking on blood by JW regardless of what has been said. As medical science advances, then so does the need for advancement in medical practices. Doctors themselves now know that blood is dangerous medicine and various procedures have been implimented that reduce bleeding during major operations.

As to eating meat. JWs only eat meat that has been bled correctly, certainly we would not eat meat that has not been killed in a manner that all blood is drained.

Also today, even though the word “interfaith” is not in the Bible, true Christians are found following Christian principles and are not in the interfaith movements, ministerial alliances or compromising church councils. We will not take any part in the conglomeration of divided false religions now so popular in this world. Why not? Because we reason on Bible principles and understand the position of a Christian in this world. As Christians we must keep clean and never compromise God’s righteous principles for the sake of being looked on with favor by this world.

Some time ago I had a vision of the rightful patron saint of Ireland and she vouchsafed numerous arcane secrets to me.
I like to think I know it all now.
