We don't know yet. We'll just have to wait and see.
Mental Health seems to be the latest 'excuse' for all attacks.

When I hear this I am immediately suspicious of the Establishment, especially when I also hear terror may have played a part.

I would not be surprised if this is just the start of it and a response to plod wheeling out 'robocop' to show how useless robocop is.
I'm not sure what you are saying there, youngmafbog. Are you suggesting this killing could be a'put up job' by the establishment or that the blaming it on mental health may be a cover up job?
With the cuts in mental health services we're bound to see a rise in acts like this.

Although I'm unwilling to rule out a terrorist act.
I don't think the relatives of the woman who died would think it was "a put-up job".

Whatever the cause it's a tragedy for the family of the dead woman and a shocking experience for the other victims.
There is no evidence, as yet, that this is related to terrorism in any way.

Perhaps it might be wise to wait for further information before leaping to any conclusions.
Blaming mental health.

Yes umm, I would be inclined to agree as far as the UK is concerned, but we have also seen this in other countries too.
I dont think anyone haas leapt to any conclusions yet.

Just voicing suspiciions at what plod has put out. ie Mental Health and terror being looked at.
Impossible to tell at this stage.

They seem to be emphasising that mental health is the main line of enquiry, but they have to rule out other motives. Terrorism will be one of several lines that have to be ruled out.
I used to work in mental health. The majority of our patients had committed a criminal act.
People in their right mind do not go around slaughtering innocent fellow citizens. So mental issues will always be a factor in such incidents. One seeks to understand causes not make excuses.
Tell that to the people of Cologne OG
There seems to be an unhealthy eagerness for an IS attack to be visited on these shores.

So far IS has attacked France and Germany. It is hoped that the UK security services are responsible for nothing happening here, or it could be luck.
It is a club we do not want to be a member of.

There is no reason that IS won't attack us, so there is an inevitability that something will happen. But excitedly jumping on any incident and willing it to be terrorism seems odd to me.
Yes, it has the signs of being a similar incident but we have to wait and see.
I'm happy to tell it to whoever you like; but I'm sure they can read it and agree with me here.
Gromit...wishful thinking for some on here !
It looks like it Mikey.

It probably will happen (that's a prediction), but some just seem desperate to wtite the "I told you so" post.

Let us hope that this is NOT terrorism, and Islamic State is NOT behind it.
I do hope so, Gromit.

Attacks like this happened before we were on high alert.
Some reports say that the dead woman was part of a "Hen Party" and that the arrested man was part of a gang who then fled. He was apparently dressed in motorcycle gear or at least had on a motorcycle helmet. None of the accompanying pictures of Russell Square however show a motorcycle.
