No. My friend is in Hua Hin at the moment and didn`t know he was dead until I told her on Facebook.

I really don't know Anne, hopefully tourists already there will be respectful.

My only surprise is that there is no :

"King Bhumibol of Thailand..RIP"

Everyone else seems to get a thread.
The Thai people are greatly respectful of the Royal Family and have strict laws against lèse majesté. Anyone who referred to the king as 'Bummy', as do certain of our members refer to the Queen as Betty, can expect at least ten years in the Bangkok Hilton.
My aunt lives in Thailand. I spoke to her earlier and apparently they've banned the sale of alcohol.
As ummm says, Tescos in Hua Hin have stopped selling booze and Pat Pong has closed down. My friend was advised to wear dark clothing when she went out today. I expect the hotels are functioning as normal though.

You will be able to buy booze away from the busy tourist places, and hotels.
