ok, i want to buy my 7 year old daughter a smart tv, she has hi speed fibre in her mums house, her bedroom does not have a router, router is in livingroom.

she has a tv in room allready but i am wondering should i buy her a smart tv , she allready has an iphone 4s and she allready has an ASUS chromebook.

if you were to want free streaming movies what would you do ? buy a firestick for existing tv, buy a chromecast , or buy a smart tv.

easiest and simplest option please. as i have stated many times i am absolutely terrible at tech stuff i do not have one clue.

Did you say she is 7 ? Maybe in this case less is more. Maybe buy her some books and leave the streaming for another 5 years or so. You may also want to see what her mum wants as it'll be for use in her house. Sorry I can't advise on the technology if you are definitely going to go down that route.

She already has a TV though Islay ( & iphone 4 and chromebook) - it's just about whether to buy a smart TV so the 7 year old can stream movies

OK Perhaps I should expand on my response at 7 she should not have access to a mobile phone or laptop without constant adult supervision. DD has already stated in previous questions and answers that his ex wife does not have a lot of time for this little girl.

How does he know what his daughter is looking up on the net or who has access to her pc?

At 7 she is a child she does not need all this tech.

Okay we wouldn't go down this route. She doesn't need more technology/possessions at that age in my view- the priorities (other than the obvious food, sleep, love) should be conversation, attention, books, games, dancing/sport etc.) in my view, but you know your child best, DD- so hopefully someone can suggest the easiest way for her to stream movies (although some parental controls would need to be part of that)

You install an add-on in kodi to a Library of Films, TV series, or live Sport streams.

Gromit, I was asking DD how he gets on with his Kodi box. If he can't operate his own then it's pointless him buying another for his daughter
