I've just been for a test drive in a vauxhall insignia. I know the diesel engines in these are said to be a little bit loud but I was surprised by how loud.
So I said the the saleswoman that I didnt know if I could live with it and her response was 'you wont hear it when you have the radio on'
I can't help thinking there must be a better answer to give - what else could she have said?
Don't worry, you look pretty old, so you'll be going deaf soon, and you won't hear anything, sirens, screaming pedestrians, and this noisy-as-hell engine.
She could have said that she had hoped would wouldn't notice the problem with the car, and then shown you a diesel car in decent working order instead.
This is what I think or at least made alternative suggestions - I told her that I was only looking at the insignia because i have been happy with my Vectra.
Missed sales opportunity I think.
