1) But that is exactly the problem. We disagreed with what the mandate entailed, of course we are saddened to see it in action. Some people hoped that Trump might not mean what he says, but alas that hasn't been the case.
2) They are what they are. In the case of Iran, calling that a "terrorist hotspot" in particular is a bit backward.But even so the effect of banning *everyone* from that country is to cut off even the scientists, engineers, etc etc, that benefit whichever economy they are present in. This blanket ban hurts the US, and it hurts the people it affects. It's particularly awful that it's a ban that backdates, too, ie those people who already had been cleared for entry to the US suddenly find their access revoked.
3) ***. This obsession with "loyalty" to a single country is small-minded nonsense. I can't begin to express my horror that it's now so acceptable.
