Janet and John and the birders have gone out for tapas - to the #1 rated tapas bar in Tavira.
They take advice from the friendly waiter and order a dozen assorted plates from the menu - P is at pains to ask that nothing too scary should be ordered (he is quite like tonyav and prefers large lumps of dead cow to anything from the murky depths of the ocean).
John has quietly ordered the octopus - it will probably be in rings and battered anyway - P will assume it is onion rings.
It isn't. It is one huge suckered tentacle waving gently in the garic and lime butter.
See Janet and John go mmmmm and tuck in - see P go green ...
100€ for four people including two bottles of wine and puddings and coffee - see four people trying to work out how to buy property in the Algarve ...
You'd have like last night then ummmm, gness had the best sea bass I've tasted for ages and I had a mighty fine swordfish steak too. The others had dead cow ... which was nice, but pointless ...
That was my first experience of the Algarve, Ummmm and I really enjoyed it.....many years ago....
Now I prefer more out of the way places for birding but I do recall having fantastic food in Albufeira and the people being so friendly....and lots of interesting places nearby to visit......x
